Far from reducing my cultural identity, being fluent in more than one language has provided me with a broader perspective, enabling me to appreciate the nuances and beauty of different cultural expressions and traditions. This linguistic ability has acted as a bridge, not a barrier, enhancing my sense of belonging to a global community without sacrificing my cultural roots. In my experience, each language I've learned carries its own set of values, humor, and ways of seeing the world, which, in turn, has deepened my appreciation for my heritage. Instead of seeing languages as dividing lines, I view them as threads weaving a richer tapestry of human experience. I believe that cultural identity is not diminished by learning new languages; rather, it's fortified by the additional layers of understanding and empathy gained through this process. Thus, rather than viewing language learning as a threat to cultural identity, I see it as a means to celebrate and deepen our connection to our own cultures and those of others.

It's sunny today. I'm feeling much better now. However, following my doctor's advice, I shouldn't go out for at least two more days, not for my own well-being, but for the safety of others. This virus is highly contagious, and anyone within close proximity to me is at a significant risk of getting infected, almost inevitable. If I were to visit a grocery store right now, I would probably expose hundreds of people to the virus. That’s a troubling thought.
