Terrified of Small Talk? You're not alone! Seriously....you're really not alone. Students commonly say they are overwhelmed by American Small Talk. . . they don't know where to start and what to talk about. Even native English speakers can be intimidated by it. A lot of people even go so far as to avoid it! There are some Small Talk classes out there. But the problem with them is they give you a list of questions to ask. That’s it. What they don’t realize is that Small Talk Experts use strategies to assess people and situations to know how, who, and when to start (and stop) talking. Mastering American Small Talk teaches you these strategies and builds from there! There are 3 Classes total. Each class will introduce new information and build on information from previous classes. You will learn techniques, strategies and tips to navigate Small Talk with increased confidence. *Closed Captions will be enabled - each student can choose to use them or turn them off. If all students approve, the class will be recorded (video, audio and a transcript of the audio). These files will be provided after each class has ended. **Pre-Class Homework: Think about specific challenges or situations involving Small Talk you have. We’ll practice analyzing them as a group and give you a few ideas on how to move forward!**
