Описание
Konkani is spoken along India's west coast, from Goa down through coastal Karnataka to Kerala, by communities that have lived for centuries among Marathi, Kannada, Tulu, Malayalam and, in Goa, four hundred years of Portuguese. There is far less published research on Konkani-influenced English than on the Hindi or Tamil varieties, so this lab is openly hedged: it describes tendencies reported for some speakers and the general west-coast pattern, not a settled set of rules. What is certain is the mixing. What you will learn: • Konkani in one minute • Consonant shifts (hedged) • Vowel shifts (hedged) • Rhythm and melody • Particles and discourse words • The decode routine: decode by feature, not by expectation • Practice: decode the sentence • Listening strategies • Self-check questions to test your ear Level: B1–B2. Self-study: listen, then take the quizzes. Audio voiced with AI from an original script by Dr. Rashmi R Nair.
