“The Voice You Forgot You Had”

“—下” is used after a verb to indicate a short action, similar to the reduplicative form of a verb.
The object of the verb can be omitted. 
For example:
wǒ kàn yí xià shū 。 
我看一下书。Let me read the book.

nǐ xiū xi yí xià bɑ 。 
你休息一下吧。You can take a break.

nǐ wèn yí xià lǎo shī 。 
你问一下老师。You ask the teacher.

wǒ tīnɡ yí xià zhè shǒu ɡē 。 
我听一下这首歌。Let me listen to this song.

            明天早上我去“天安门”广场。míngtiān zǎoshang wǒ qù “ tiān ān mén ” guǎngchǎng.
            I will go to Tiananmen SquareTomorrow morning.
            星期二去颐和园、星期三去故宫。xīng qī èr qù yí hé yuán、xīng qī sān qù gù gōng.
            I will go to the Summer Palace on Tuesday and the Forbidden City on Wednesday.
            星期四我想去北京胡同儿逛逛。xīngqīsì wǒ xiǎng qù Běijīng hútòngr guàngguang.
            I want to go for a stroll in Beijing's Hutongs on Thursday.
            星期五我想去尝尝“北京烤鸭”。xīngqīwǔ wǒxiǎng qù chángchang “ Běijīng kǎoyā ”.
            I want to try 'Beijing Roast Duck' on Friday

Teacher: Great, what about Saturday and Sunday?

明天 míng tiān：yesterday
附近 fù jìn：nearby；close to

逛逛guàngguang：go for a walk；wander around 
尝尝chángchang：try；taste
p.s：In Chinese,verbs can be reduplicated to indicate that they happen briefly or "a little bit." 

广场 guǎng chǎng：square
想 xiǎng：think；would like to（just an idea）
要 yào：will；want（strong will or idea and want to make it）
就 jiù：just or then（ 就 jiù + Verb Phrase）
休息 xiūxi：rest；take a rest
