That is all different from what they know about China and Chinese!

The skyscrapers and convenient transportation as well as the hospitable locals surprise them, which is unbelievable! It is completely different to what they thought about China and Chinese people!

I enjoy listening to podcasts about China (for example, the Sinica network), but what I understand is that: there is still a big contrast between "tier 1" cities and the country side. How does the country provinces are perceived in China?
