I and my entire family live in Paris. I was surprised, therefore, while in the south part of France for the holidays to suddenly see my grandparents. I had not realized that they were in the south as well.

Not the only way you can say it, but this flows better

I also live in Paris like my entire family. And I went on a holliday to the south of France. Suddenly, I saw my grandparents there! But I didn't know they were in the south as well.
