Postponing lessons is not something that happens often, so perhaps your teacher had an urgent appointment on short notice. Have you tried to reschedule with your teacher?

Hi Anton.  I am sorry to hear this was your first experience.  I have had over 200 lessons in total in French and German and tutors needing to cancel is extremely rare.  If someone did this often, then I would just find another tutor.  I would continue with italki.
