Vividly portrayed in the cartoon is a student who is struggling to choose in a course selection system. It is suggested to choose the cutting-edge, innovative and more difficult courses. However, what the boy prefers are the ones likely to offer higher scores, easy to pass and with less homework. The caption below the demonstration reads,"Course Selection is Underway." The cartoonist aims to criticize the unwise choice on curriculums. This phenomenon can be partly attributed to the ever competitive society that compels students to attach great importance to their GPA. However, on no account should we pursue the scores and the temporary relaxation(easy path) at the cost of the lasting benefits. The courses offering innovative content and focusing on frontiers can provide us with ample opportunities to sharpen our minds and help us keep pace with the fast-changing world. I am fully convinced that students with ambition and long-term perspective will readily choose these curriculums and take(accept) the challenges because this is a much more valuable and beneficial investment. Accordingly, measures must be taken to reverse this phenomenon. For example, colleges should offer more innovative and practical courses and reduce the out dated ones(obsolete ones). We ought to bear in mind that campus is a place of learning rather than taking exams.
