My Artist Statement.
Bio Helen Denisevich was born in Belarus and is now based in New
York City. She has been studying art since childhood . She graduated from the Belarusian Academy of Arts in Minsk, then started her artistic career at an animation studio. Since moving to New York City she has
focused exclusively on watercolor landscapes. Helen works in
contemporary watercolor, acrylic and combines different mediums to create vibrant,
bright and calm landscapes of both nature and the urban world.
I find
inspiration by exploring the simple lines and forms of nature and urban life, discovering how the contrast of natural light and shadow interact
with the structure of the city. I use visual language to create urban scenes
that capture my perception of the unique expressiveness of the megapolis. My paintings
are colorful and energetic, experiments in the balance of chaos with order to mirror the constant movement of urban life. My artwork
breaks down the memory and moments of life and distills them to their underlying structure, strong yet flowing.
