my plans for the weekend are very limited because of the current situation and because we are in lockdown still. But on the weekend i will see my father and his girlfriend. We havent seen for a while so i'm looking forward to sunday. I hope they bring around some cake. :)

My plans for the weekend are very limited because we are still in lockdown. That said, on the weekend I will see my father and his girlfriend. We haven't seen each other for a while so I'm looking forward to Sunday. I hope they bring cake. :)

Good job! :) You can say "because we are still in lockdown" or "because of the current situation". You do not need to say both.
