# 🇪🇸 Does “Ya veremos” Mean Yes… or No? 🤔
Have you ever invited a Spanish friend somewhere and received the answer “Ya veremos”?
Does that mean yes? No? Maybe? 😂
In Spanish, we sometimes use expressions to avoid giving a direct answer. Here are four you'll hear quite often!
🧐 1. “Ya veremos” — We'll see
—¿Vienes a mi fiesta? (Are you coming to my party?)
—Mmm… Ya veremos.
It might mean maybe… or it might be a polite way of saying no!
😅 2. “A ver si quedamos” — We should meet up sometime
You bump into an old friend and say, “¡A ver si quedamos!”
Sounds like a plan, right? Well… don't be surprised if nobody actually arranges anything!
🤷 3. “En principio, sí” — In principle, yes
It's a yes, but with a little room for changing your mind later.
💭 4. “Me lo pienso” — I'll think about it
Sometimes it means exactly that. Other times, it's a gentle way of avoiding an immediate no.
Of course, everything depends on the context, tone of voice, and relationship between the speakers!
### 🎯 Your turn!
A Spanish friend invites you to a party, but you don't really want to go.
What would you say?
A) No, gracias. No me apetece.
B) Mmm… Ya veremos.
C) Me lo pienso y te digo algo.
D) Something else!
