Hello everyone.
Can you help me to find out the word to describe this situation in a natural way?
If some one went through a hard time one of his family members died 😔. He's depressed now and has been staying at home for a long time ,you decided to take him for a trip (to get him out of these feelings )? What do we say about that ?

You might take him on a trip "to [try to] cheer him up".
You might take him on a trip "to help him take his mind of off things".
You might take him on a trip "to make him feel better".
These are the usual ways of saying this sort of thing. There is nothing grammatically wrong with taking him on a trip "to get him out of these feelings", although the three examples above are much more common.
I hope that helps and that your friend feels better soon!
