I can see that you already speak English.In my opinion this will help you because if you are speaking with an Italian person and you have a language in common with him/ her,the process of learning is faster( if you don't understand something,you can ask for a clarification).

In the past I had many Japanese children among my students.They learnt Italian in a natural way ,by speaking with teachers and classmates.They learnt it very fast and very well!

The key is exposure, exposure ,exposure!
