You can learn to read, write and pronounce the Hindi alphabet from this page: http://avashy.com/hindiscripttutor.htm

I find its better to just start reading because often pronunciation is different in context. I use lingq.com its free as long as you dont create any flashcards. Most of their beginner lessons have audio files.
