“The secret of happiness is not doing what one likes, but liking what one has to do.”
James M. Burrie
I agree with this but to me it's such a deep philosophical statement. Hopefully I am doing things that I like, but let's say I am not. Let's say my friend talks me into going to a party that I don't want to go to. I may not really like what I'm doing but I have to make the best of the situation and realize that I'm doing this for another reason, maybe to please my friend. It would not be cool to have a grumpy attitude or to insist on leaving too early.
It means that whatever I find myself doing, I must in some way like it simply because the reality is that this is what I am doing. I have made choices that got me to this place. Why fight the facts? When I take responsibility like this I will get better at choosing and making decisions in the first place.
I am sorry but, in my opinion , I would name the quote like perversion.
