D'Urbervilles -is it a word derives from French？ Why is there a single quote mark？德伯这个词是来源于法语吗？为啥有一个单引号？

It is a place name called <Urbervilles> it is d'urbervilles because it would mean <Of Urbervilles- De Urbervilles> but in french when the word >De< (of) is immediately followed by another word starting with a vowel, it is shortened to d' and joined with the next word.
