When a proper noun includes a common noun, "the" is standard.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The United Kingdom
The United States
The Czech Republic

You should always use the article if you say "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." But most people in the US simply say "Saudi Arabia."
