Ah, this is a good question, I think!
This is actually something students in America learn in science class a lot (or at least I did, even through high school).
Basically, accuracy means being correct, close to the right thing, the true value; precision doesn't really refer to correctness, but more like fastidious-ness and detail, I guess. I'll try some examples...
A picture analogy I most often heard is: think of archery, shooting arrows at a target.
If you shoot a bunch of arrows in the center, that's being accurate. You're supposed to hit the middle.
If you shoot a bunch of arrows somewhere off to the side, but they're all right next to each other, that's precision (but not accuracy).
Another example is, imagine you are putting something together. Let's say building a chair out of wood.
If you pay really close attention to detail and go slowly and make sure everything fits together perfectly, that will be precision.
And if while you were being precise, you also followed the instructions and built the chair correctly, you would have been both accurate and precise.
If you were very fastidious and careful in your work but actually made it into a table instead of a chair, you were still precise, but not accurate.
If you just threw the wood together haphazardly, not taking care, but still managed to get the chair built correctly, you would have been accurate, but not precise.
I hope that helped some! It's hard to explain abstract concepts like that.Satoshi0
