About friendship——the story of "知音" My English teacher asked me to prepare a conversation, the topic is friendship. So I went through the books of my daughter's (it's acturally a book of her early education, she is two years old.:) )and got an idea.I will tell a story of "知音", I put it here to share it with people from all over the world. In ancient China, during the Spring and Autumn Period, that's almost about 2500 years ago. There was a nobleman living in Jin (one of the great states during the Spring and Autumn Period, a large and strong state occupying middle north China), his name is "Yu Bo Ya". He was a diplomatic officer of Jin, and also, he was really a skillful musician. He played Chinese zithers well, and he wrote a lot of melodies although few people could understand quite well. One day, he was on a diplomatic mission to Chu (another great state occupying the middle south China) in a boat. There was magnificent views along the river. He enjoyed the scene so much so he anchored the boat to have a rest. He brought out the zither and started to play. Splendid melodies filled in the air, he really enjoyed it even to notice a man stood just several yards away from him. He didn't realize his company until suddenly his string broken. The man seemed embarrassed: " Your majesty, I am so sorry, my name is Zhong Zi Qi. I am a woodcutter from a nearby village, and I just passed by but your music attracted me. " Yu Bo Ya, the nobleman was curious:" You understood my music? Tell me something about what I was playing." The man said respectfully:"Your majesty, from your music, I can see great mountains, I can feel the peaks, the valleys, what a splendid view!". Yu Bo Ya was happy:" I will played another melody for you, enjoy it". So he started, the man seemed really enjoying it till the end. Yu Bo Ya asked him " How about this one?". The woodcutter said:" I can see trickling streams gathering into a roaring river! This one is really impressive!" Yu Bo Ya was so happy, never before did he meet a person who could understand his songs so well, they talked a lot and became friends. After a whole night conversation, they must separate, Yu Bo Ya should continue his mission to Chu, Zhong Zi Qi should go back to his home to feed the family. So they made a deal to reunion at the same time next year at the same place. to be continued, in the comment. :)

In ancient China, during the spring and autumn periods, that's almost about (use either "almost" or "about") 2500 years ago, there was a nobleman living in Jin (one of the great states during the spring and autumn periods, it was a large and strong state occupying the middle of north China). His name was Yu Bo Ya. He was a diplomatic officer of Jin, and also, he was also a really a skillful musician. He played Chinese zithers well, and he wrote a lot of melodies, although few people could understand quite them very well. One day, he was on a diplomatic mission to Chu (another great state occupying the middle of south China) in a boat. There were magnificent views along the river. He enjoyed the scene so much that he anchored the boat to have a rest ("to rest" is more common than "to have a rest"). He brought out the zither and started to play. Splendid melodies filled in the air, he really enjoyed it even to notice a man stood just several yards away from him(this clause is kind of confusing. Do you mean that he enjoyed it so much that he did not even notice that a man stook just several yards away from him?). He didn't realize his company until suddenly his string broken. The man seemed embarrassed: " Your majesty, I am so sorry, my name is Zhong Zi Qi. I am a woodcutter from a nearby village, and I just passed by, but your music attracted me. " Yu Bo Ya, the nobleman, was curious:" You understood my music? Tell me something about what I was playing." The man said respectfully: "Your majesty, from your music, I can see great mountains, I can feel the peaks, the valleys, what a splendid view!". Yu Bo Ya was happy: "I will played another melody for you. Enjoy it". So he started, and the man seemed to be really enjoying it till the end. Yu Bo Ya asked him "How about this one?" The woodcutter said: "I can see trickling streams gathering into a roaring river! This one is really impressive!" Yu Bo Ya was so happy. Never before had he meet a person who could understand his songs so well. They talked a lot and became friends. After a whole night of conversation, they had to separate, Yu Bo Ya had to continue his mission to Chu, and Zhong Zi Qi had to go back to his home to feed the family. So they made a deal to reunite at the same time the next year at the same place.

Over the next coming year, Yu Bo Ya prepared a lot of melodies to share with his friend. And Finally, the date approached, and he went to the same place and wait for Zhong Zi Qi, his friend. But for several days, Zhong Zi Qi did not show himself. Yu Bo Ya was disappointed, so he went to the nearby village to find his friend. An old man told him what had happened to Zhong Zi Qi: "He was sick, and he died several weeks before you came. He buried himself (I would say "He was buried" since you can't really bury yourself) at the same place where you first met, waiting for you and your music." Yu Bo Ya was so sad, but he rushed to the gravestone of Zhong Zi Qi and played again the song of the Great Mountain and Flowing River to his friend. When he finished, he smashed his zither into pieces and cryingcried: "For what purpose should I play music if the only one who can understand my music is dead? I won't play music anymore!" People created the word "知音" to memorize these two guys. The word "知音", translated directly into English, means "a man who knows your music." People always use this words to refer to somebody who really knows them. I share the story here and wish everyone can find a "知音" of their own.

This was an awesome story; I'm sorry I didn't get to hear it from you yourself! Great job.

In the next coming year, Yu Bo Ya prepared a lot of melodies to share with his friend. When the date finally approached, he went to the same place and waited for his friend, Zhong Zi Qi., his friend. But for several days, Zhong Zi Qi did not show himself. Yu Bo Ya was disappointed. He went to the nearby village to find his friend and an old man told him what had happened to Zhong Zi Qi. " He was sick and he died several weeks before you came. He buried himself at the same place where you two first met, waiting for you and your music." Yu Bo Ya was so sad; he rushed to the gravestone of Zhong Zi Qi and played again the songs of the Great Mountain and Flowing River to his friend. When he finished, he smashed his zither into pieces and cried, " For what purpose I play music if the only one who can understand my music is dead? I wouldn't play music anymore!" People created the word "知音" to commemorate these two guys. The word "知音", translated directly into English, means a man who knows your music. People always use these words to refer to somebody who really knows them. I share the story here and hope everyone can find a "知音" of their own.

You write very well but there are errors in your punctuations. You tend to make a lot of comma splices in your writing. A comma splice occurs when you join two independent clauses with a comma. For example: "I will tell a story of "知音", I put it here to share it with people from all over the world." These are two complete sentences and thus cannot be joined together with a comma. I corrected your comma splices in red. To correct a comma splice, you can either 1) join them both using a coordinator (and, but, nor, or), 2) join them using a semicolon ; or 3) Separate the two sentences with a period '.'
