Currently learning Japanese with Minna No Nihongo Since I always wanted to go to Japan, I went there last summer and took some classes for beginners. It was fun and useful, but due to the fact I hardly ever use Japanese while I am in Germany, the lack of training made me forget most of the things I learned. Currently preparing for another trip to Japan this summer, taking classes again and I hope I will be able to talk to a lot of Japanese people this time around.

Hi Marcela, thank you. I have Genki 1&2 as well as the Ganki Kanji "Look and Learn" at home, but in summer I am going to a Japanese school in Japan which uses "Minna No Nihongo" so I am preparing myself with the same book at the moment. I will definitely get back to Genki for self-study purposes though.

Hi Felix, As an English teacher and language learning fan I highly recommend you the Genki series to study Japanese. It's an awesome series that I'm sure willl take your language skills to the next level. I tried it out a bit and I really liked the structure I found in those books. Cheers!
