First lesson (trial) Recently I had my first lesson by Skype. I had introduced myself at first. Then we had a talk about the weather. It was surprising for Shariz to here that 20 degrees above zero might be too hot for someone, like me. But it is okay. Magadan is a cold place to live for sure. But if I move to warm place like hers I would perhaps think the same way as she does. It is all about persivation and adoptation, I guess. It was useful for me to here about the importance of reading in English. I guessed about this before, of course. But the teacher provided some analytics, so now I have the approval. Reading is a good and accessible way of learning. It also helps to develop writing skills as you can see how words are spelled. I have understood almost every word the teacher have spoken. As for me, I couldn't cope with my excitement and haven't shown the best I could. There were big pauses and mumbling as I couldn't find the words to say. My active vocabulary has to be improved. I'm already working with reading and learning new words. Recently I have learned words like "exuberant", "adorn", "pith", "acme", "dissent", "convey", "discretion", "innate", "gingerly" and more. I like vocabulary.com for the challenges they provide. And there are also a lot of examples of words usage gathered from the myriad of sources. I can't still find the best ways to use these words. "Use it or you lose it" - I heard from someone. But as I compound the sentence, especially by speaking, these new words are out of scope. Should I paste them artificially? Cannot say for now. Anyway I like my first practice. It is a good starting point. And now I'm ready to proceed..
