A child that I was, in darkness I saw you.
The dream hovering above, you lighted up with love.
其时余尚稚子，如夜中迷失
梦境盘旋不散，得见你以爱燃之引之
A time a child I was, lost like in the darkness of night
A swirling dream of never ending, upon seeing you, a lighted path I was being led out.
Never can you imagine, how many hills I scaled.
When I was searching for the truth, you handled me with joy.
未可想象如斯山川，吾曾翻越
于吾上下求索之际，你施予温情援手
This mountain or river, never had I imagined to be scaled or waded.
Up and down, I searched, your loving hand, my guide.

My confidence set aglow upon seeing you.
In my hour of fatigue, shamelessly I asked of you,
nary did you give me a winsome smile.

予取予求时，汝拈花而笑
Each time I see you, my heart at ease and understanding spews forth

Sitting by the bank, waving off dust in the wind.
Boats floating beneath the sky, with my determined mind.
静坐河岸，拂去风中浮尘
行云舟下，然此心却坚定
By the river banks, sitting in calm, brushing away the tainted/polluted wind of the vulgar world.
Under the clouds, I sail in my boat, my heart full of conviction.
Chorus2:
