Is it correct? I want someone to repair my writing. m(_ _)m On May 18, Switzerland held referendum on introducing a minimum wage of 22 Swiss francs(2500yen in Japan) an hour. As a result, voters have rejected this proposal but it is extremely surprising for me to know the fact that almost all workers are paid near the standard of that proposal.

On May 18, Switzerland held a referendum on introducing a minimum wage of 22 Swiss francs (2500 Japanese yen) per / an hour. As a result, Voters ended up rejecting this proposal but it was extremely surprising for me to find out that most workers are paid almost as much as near to the standard amount in the proposal. (or just, "near to the proposed minimum wage")
