I understand that the Chinese system runs the way it is because of two reasons 1) people find politics hard to change 2) govt is not that bad after all so let it do its work. Caste system exists because of politicians , and the reservation system we have in education and jobs in india, basing on caste. Caste as we see today is a remnant of a social hierarchical labor division mechanism that once helped india to become powerful. Now after centuries of abuse this system has become outdated completely. However i hope democracy is still strong, though there are divisions in society based on caste. Both of our countries are very ancient and diverse. so i think there are many things for us to talk in future too. feichang ganxie

The opinion toward the government is different from people to people. In general, young people are more pro-democracy. Well-educated people can accept more modern values. However, most of the Chinese choose to live with it, because for one thing it is hard to fight against it; for another thing ,most people care about finance more than they do with politic problems. Since everybody is benefiting from the economy boom, there is not much anger against the government.

I am not trying to defend Chinese system, but I am curious how caste system and democracy can co-exist in India?

Singapore is fine. Taiwan is fine. South Korea is fine. But i cannot appreciate North Korea.
