How would you translate "não houve o intuito de comparar as diferenças"? Thank you in advanced for your help.

If I wrote the same sentence changing the word " intuito " to " intenção ", would that be clearer?

Não houve a intenção de comparar as diferenças!

I would translate as "There was no aim of compare the differences" or "There was no intention in comparing the differences"
