introduction

Hello , My name is Mariam, I'm 20 years old and I'm trying to improve my language as I'm using it in my field of study and in work later on, I'm studying geophysics and my problem lies in my little knowledge of the vocabulary in the field itself, also my phonetics aren't good enough to give me the confidence to present any project I'm willing to do, I feel so troubled when I'm reading any books as I don't understand them thoroughly unless I read them more than twice. I learnt English from movies and such, so I may understand the meaning of the word if i hear it but I can't if it's only written, I'm hoping to learn from what I can get here, and I plan to focus on reading more books to overcome this hurdle, I'm not sure if that is the right way or not but I'll try my hardest.
