份means part of, for example, put one thing into three parts, 把一个东西分成三份。but u can't say put one to three things,你不能说把一个东西分成三个东西。 three things on the right is part of one thing on the left. 过, in Chinese, this is not a word

一份(Explanation) it means the amount of the gifts(礼物) . we use different units on different cases , it depends on what your sentence was . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually , in this case , you use the "一个" better than "一份" , unless the amount of the gift is not just only one.
