I´m from Spain. My favourite festival is "The San Fermines", in honour of Saint Fermin. It´s celebrated every year in Pamplona, in the northern os Spain. It begins on July 6 and finishes on July 14, at twelve o´clock at night.
It's been held since the Middle Ages and its origin is connected with three religious ceremonies in honour of Saint Fermin, but the festival that we know today was born in 1591.
For the festival, there are running of bulls and bullfights, mainly; and the tourists can eat navarreses dishes as bull stewor "ajorriero", a dish of potatoes, oil, garlic and eggs, that is delicious.
In addition, the tourists can run with the bulls, but this is very dangerous and you have to be in good shape.
I like very much the atmosphere during "The San Fermines", the running of the bulls, the fireworks, and the "Poor me", that ends the festival because it's very exciting.
