CAE Writing Task - REVIEW - RESTAURANT "The Poplar Grove" Situated on the outskirts of a medium-sized village and 37 km far from the capital city, “The Poplar Grove” has lately become the most fashionable hangout for the local people. The perfect place not only for a pleasant dinner with family or friends but also if you wish to celebrate there the wedding of your dreams. It is when you enter the place that you notice the magnificent setting you are surrounding by, a delightful marriage of antique pieces of furniture and the luxury of modernity. For those who do not want to get on directly with it, there is also a cosy bar at the entrance where having a drink before. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. All the products are fresh and the chefs take great care in selection the best quality ingredients. I had the parmesan eggplants served with crunchy onion and bacon. The main course consisted of beef sirloin in Pedro Ximénez, a real pleasure for the senses. It all was followed by a moreish brownie that will delight those with a sweet tooth. If going with little kids, don´t panic: the restaurant has available a full menu with high-quality home-made fast food. What a pity that the service does not accompany the high-cuisine food. You can hardly get a smile out of the waiters, excessively serious for my taste. Thankfully the owner is always around willing to exchange some kind words with all her clients. On no account should you miss out having either lunch or dinner at “The Poplar Grove”. I strongly recommend it. For sure you won´t regret it.
