Day 17 : A Football match
Last night my parents, my niece and I watched a football match between Vietnam and Cambodia. This was the last match for both two teams before the knockout stage of the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup. Before this match, there was no possibility for Cambodia to get into the knockout stage so they started the match confident and freely. They did not have to play to get any points or reach any targets so it was not easy for the Vietnamese players to score in the first 30 minutes. In general, all the teams playing in the AFF cup this year had played better than last time. Some teams were estimated to be as a weak team before but then they played well and surprised the audiences. The improvements of all the teams made every match more interesting.The result of the match satisfied the Vietnamese supporters but it was not the most impressive thing of the match. After the first score by Vietnam, to celebrate the score, all the Vietnamese players stood together, held up a national uniform jersey on which was written "9" and looked toward a player sitting on the substitute bench. The player number 9 had had an injury on his knee before the match started and maybe he could not attend the matches following this game. In the previous match, he broke Myanmar's net but the score was not recognized because a lineman judged it as offsides. However it was onside when people saw the replay in slow motion. Seeing the celebration of his companions, he was surprised and could not hold back his tears. At the end of the match, all the audiences said out loud "Go on Van Toan", "Go on Vietnam" to show their love and to encourage Van Toan and whole the team also.

They did not have to play to get any points or any targets so it was not easy for Vietnamese player to score in 30 first minutes.(New idea or topic = new paragraph) In general, all the teams who joined the AFF cup this year had played better than last time. Some teams was were (were is plural) estimated (not quite the right word here) predicted as a weak team (general rule of thumb, try to avoid using the same word more than once in a sentence) before but then they played cool (cool is okay, how about amazing?) and surprised the audiences. The improvements of all the teams made every match more interesting.

Good stuff! Like I mentioned earlier, try to avoid using the same word more than once in a sentence. Audience and Improvement are inferred plurals and do not need an added 's' in this context.
On a side note, I was in Ha Noi during a soccer cup and I rememeber everyone out in the streets around Haon Kiem Lake, on their scooters, tooting horns, waving flags, singing all together! Was an amazing experience. The Vietnamese truly love their soccer.
