Is there any difference between "at first glance" and "on the face of it"? Are they used interchangeably? Thank you in advance.

Hello Yusuke!
At first glance means the first time you considered something.. it could also mean first sight of a thing or person.
At the face of it is used when you are describing how a situation seems on the surface.
Example of sentences that explains these terms:
"At first glance I knew she was the criminal".
"At the face of it, it all seemed well" .
I hope this helps😊

Hello Yusuke! Yes, they have the same meaning wherein both are about something which seems to be at first notice. However, it isn't so upon further investigation/reflection.
