Hi everyone!! :) I see lots of posts from teachers but I don't see many questions from the users on italki .. Is it not the done thing there ? or is there another more appropriate page or hashtag to do it? My actual question: Is there an equivalent english IDIOM to the french expression: "ne pas sentir quelqu'un" when it means "to not trust somebody" because we think they are deceitful or we think that the other person has hidden bad intentions? Example n°1: He swore he was telling the truth, that he was on my side, but I have a bad feeling, "Je ne le sens pas". Example n°2: "Have you seen the new girl? "Je ne la sens pas" : She seems nice at first sight but I think she's a B***behind your back "

In the first example, we could say "I don't buy it". In the second example, young people might say "I'm not feeling ____ " (her/them/it) but older people don't speak like this, not least because the literal meaning can be interpreted as obscene.

In the second example, there's something about her I just don't trust, there's something fishy/shady about her. -No me da buena espina, Esta no es trigo limpio.. I think "I'm not really feeling her" could just mean you don't appreciate her, have the same personality or interests as her. She seems nice enough, but I'm not really feeling her. We just have different personalities
