Is This sentence True ?
They are going fishing on the weekend.
Correct form is not: They are going to finish the weekend ?

The first one is correct.
The second one has another meaning since finish and fishing are different verbs.
Also, it would be more natural to say:
The weekend is over.

Both sentences are correct
