Профессиональный преподавательDo You Know More Expressions with "Spain" or "Spanish"?
Hey everyone!
I recently came across an interesting French expression: "parler français comme une vache espagnole", which translates to "speak French like a Spanish cow." It means to speak French poorly. This got me thinking—are there other expressions in different languages that mention Spain or Spanish people in a unique way?
For example, in Spanish, we say "irse a la francesa," which also means to go or leave without saying goodbye.

From Wikipedia:
'The terms Spanish practices or old Spanish customs are British expressions that refer to irregular or restrictive practices in workers' interests. Typically, these are arrangements that have been negotiated in the past between employers and unions.'
The expression was frequently used in an informal way to suggest lazy and inefficient working habits, which were common in England in past years.
