In Mexico, fireworks are incredibly popular. Not only do you hear them until the early morning, but the city is often hazy on New Years day because of so many fireworks being lit the night before. Honestly, I do not appreciate this custom. I have a dog and he gets very upset by loud noises like fireworks. This makes holidays like New Years eve very stressful for both or us!
