I’m insomniac and i would like to try a sleep gum but not ready to waste money for nothing and i received today a sampler 😇 A "sampler" usually involves a variety of different items such as a sampler package of chocolates might have several (even as many as 12-20) different kinds of chocolates with only one or two of each kind. If what you received was one piece of "sleeping gum", then you might say "I received a sample" or "I was given a sample".
