"I need some sugar in my coffee, tenth spoons please" ?
I heard this phase but the part "tenth spoons" does not make sense to me, I can understand "ten spoons", but tenth?? I know tenth is the ordinal for ten, but it sounds strange on that phrase. What does it mean? Or maybe the one who used it had not said "tenth" but some other word related to ten which will make sense. Any ideas?
obs: I'm sure the word is related to ten, because it shows the one asked for sugar counting the spoons until ten.Mistery solved!! I get what was my mistake with the answer from Jura, the correct phrase is not "tenth spoons" but "ten teaspoons". I didn't know the word teaspoon that's why I understood "tenth spoons". Sometimes is realy hard to understand native speakers.. hehe...
Thank you everyone for your help!!
