Is there any difference between “arrive at work” and “arrive for work”? thanks

If you say you arrived at work, then "work" is being used to describe where you arrived. This would be like saying "I am at the place I work"
If you say you arrive for work, then "work" is being used to describe what you will be doing. This would be like saying "I am here to perform work"

Here is an example: Tony was out partying the entire night, into the early morning. A few hours later, he arrived at work at the usual time. Before too long, he was dozing at his desk. Apparently, he had not arrived for work.
