Break a sweat ?? What does it mean ? same as a piece of cake ?
Today , I read a sentence as below
Happily, all kinds of physical activity lowers blood sugar levels by taking glucose from the blood and muscle to use as fuel. Choose an activity you like enough to continue until you raise your heart rate and break a sweat.
What does "break a sweat " mean in this sentence ? It means you can get rid of disease easily if you stick with an exercise which you like very much ?
Is my understanding correct ? Please comment ?
Do you often say " break a sweat" in your daily conversation or writing ?
Thanks in advance.

"Break a sweat" describes effort sufficient to cause perspiration to occur. If I describe some activity as easy, I might say I didn't break a sweat.

Agree with Peachey and Randy. Referring to the title line of your question, if something is "a piece of cake" it is very easy to do. So, if I were given a task to complete that I think is a "piece of cake", it would never make me "break a sweat!".

"Break a sweat" means exactly that: exercise until you begin to sweat from the exertion. (The sweat "breaks out"? Exercise until you break the limit where sweating begins? Maybe...)
Yes, you will hear this used often. :)
