You're definitely correct. The only other answer that is even possible would be "A". Answer A would describe a situation where the woman, knowing the baby won't awaken because of the woman's sounds, enters quietly anyway. It's a little bizarre and much less likely, so "A".

It seems B is the correct answer, and your explanation is reasonable.
But if there's no baby in the room actually, maybe A is correct as well.
