"You" is proper English. "Ya" is informal. So do not use "ya" in your formal essays!

You is a person that is being reffered to when talking directly to them. Such as : YOU come here. You did this. How are YOU? Ya is a slang term in English that represents a dialect of the English language in America from the southern states. It also means "you" such as: Thank ya!! Love ya!! See ya!!
