He will die, then he will pay for what he did on earth He will repay if people must repay - or take what is coming to him if he must be punished (because he is a pepper) he might not have a solid idea of what is to come- or not even truly think anything will be owed at all; but he knows he will be able to take it. It is a statement of strength (being able to pay whatever price is expected for his life) and weakness (the weakness of being mortal) at the same time - like the peppers best ideas are.
