Hi Holly. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you but it looks like you got a good start so far. If you hadn't already learned the hangeul I would have advised that first. I'm trying to not make the same mistakes I made while learning Spanish by trying to figure out grammar and subject rules and such first. The approach I'm taking right now is to learn like I probably learned my native language of English and that's simply by listening and grasping the words as they come up in conversation and relevancy to me. Actually, when I started to do that for Spanish my fluency sky-rocketed. I've currently been using, for both Korean and Spanish, the Pimsleur audio files. I got mine on Audible's website. The first lessons of each language are free so you can test them out. The lessons are only 30 minutes in length but with small amounts like that AND consistency I've been able to make good progress. It forces you to speak out loud like a child repeating a parent. Another good free resource is a site called talktomeinkorean. My sister introduced me to that one. They also have Youtube videos. If you don't want to go the audio route then I suggest learning the basics first. Verbs. I find that when learning verbs I'll automatically build a vocabulary of nouns and adjectives to accompany them. Hope that helps!
