The subjunctive expresses a nuance of doubt.
Using the indicativo after verbs of thought like, pensare, sperare, credere implies a confidence about the reality of the thought.
Give a look to this page to distinguish is being mandatory (1. after conjunctions which introduce subordinate clauses, 2. indefinite adjective and pronouns, 3. impersonal forms, 4. in certain "idiomatic" phrasing ) and functionally facultative.

In this case, instead of writing : "spero che non abbiate", with a congiuntivo presente, would make think to "lamentele" already present, while, using the future moves the possibility of their existence only later, after the decision of choosing that conteggio, after counting.
