Accountability means that your actions are answerable to others. Responsibility is a task that is assigned to you or you assigned to yourself to faithfully complete or take on. Examples: (1) Voters expect a certain level of accountability from their elected officials. (2) An employees responsibility is to complete all tasks assigned to him.
