What is the difference between the verb "보다" and the verb "구경하다"? I noticed how 구경하다 is used for the action of seeing/watching. [어제 아버지랑 축구를 구경했어요.] or ? ... But also, I noticed that 보다 too, is used for expressing the action of seeing. [저는 한국 드라마를 보고 있어요.] What is the difference between these two verbs? In which cases can they be used, and when not? 감사합니다!

Very difficult problem for native Korean also. At first, 구경하다 includes that someone feels interesting in something. In the case 보다, it has so many meanings. Technically, 보다 can cover 구경하다. So if you have confused when you use, just use 보다. Good luck.

안녕하세요, '보다'와 '구경하다'는 비슷하지만 느낌이 조금 달라요. 헷갈리실 거에요. Hi, I think that you're confused because '보다' and '구경하다' are similar but little bit different. '보다'는 주로 흔히 볼수 있는 일들이나 현상 사람등에 쓰입니다. When you see or watch something common sight, you can say '보다'. For example 나 어제 영화보고 왔어. I saw a movie last night. 나 지금 드라마보고 있어. I'm watching drama now. 잠시후에 남자친구 볼꺼야. I will meet my boy friend later. 반면, '구경하다'는 흔하지않은 사건/이벤트 등을 보러 특정한 장소에 가거나, 쇼핑할때 주로 씁니다. But when you go to somewhere to see something interesting event or go on a shopping, '구경하다'is better than saying '보다'. For example 눈이 엄청쌓였어. 구경가자. It's very heavy snowy. Let's go for seeing. 난 쇼핑몰에서 구경하는걸 즐겨. I enjoy looking around in the mall. 도움이 되셨나요? 궁금하신점 있으면 더 알려주세요.:)
