when to use à versus de versus dans versus en? is it that you use de when the word starts with a vowel? Like difficle à savoir and difficile d'apprendre? and like i've said a l'ecole and been corrected to dans l'ecole or something like i dont know please help

There is no easy rule, just lots to learn by heart. At your level, I wouldn't on this problem yet, the ratio stress versus utility is disproportionate. Wait until you are more comfortable with verbs.
