In American English at least, an apartment is a living area that is rented and is usually part of a larger multi-unit building. A condominium is similar to an apartment, but the individual unit is purchased instead of rented. In other words, the owner of the condominium, or condo, does not own the whole multi-unit building - they just own their own individual unit. A dormitory is similar to an apartment, but it is usually only rented by college students. Sometimes, dormitories, or dorms, are only allowed to be rented to college students. I'm not sure of the Spanish translations for any of this!

Puede decir "apartamento con titularidad" o algo así. La idea es que la casa o apartamento dentro de su casa es su propiedad, pero el espacio afuera es propiedad común de todos los propietarios, includo el patio que, si pudiera recordar correctamente, es un ejemplo de algo llamado Propiedad comunal con derechos exclusivos o similar. Lo significa que es suyo pero la comunidad puede decidir lo que es prohibida en ese espacio. El mantenimiento y servicios relacionado con la afuera están pagado entre los dueños pero el costo de la parte adentro de su apartamento es suyo.
