Hello all, I have a question.
I did my grammar practice, there was one dialogue as follows:
—— I haven't seen Andrew for weeks.
—— Nor me. It's weeks since I last saw him.
I would like to know "It's" is shorted for what? It is? It was? It has?
And I would probably say :"It has been weeks since I last saw him."
Please tell me how should I say this sentence, thank you!

You're completely right, the correct answer is "It's been weeks since I last saw him" - and yes, "It's" is short for it has.

The sentence should probably read "It has been weeks since I last saw him." Or "It's been weeks since I last saw him." Here, "it's" is short for "it has".
