I can't understand this sentence 8_8 And a few years ago, I was looking at some of the addicts in my life who I love ->It means I am looking some one who are in addiction?

It is a bit strange. It means he was looking at people he cares about with addictions. Looking in this sentence could either mean thinking about them, or it could literally mean looking at them, or a picture of them.
